Group Walk June 2013
Diabetes Week - 9th to 15th June 2013
We are hosting a walk on Sunday 9th June at 11.00am for Diabetes Week from Snuff Mills car park, River View Road, BS16 1DL. It is an event for all the Bristol Diabetes Support Networks and others who wish to come along with partners, relatives and friends. We will walk for about 2 miles along the River Frome. If you do not feel like walking, come along and enjoy the area. There is a kiosk in the car park (free parking) that sells food and drinks. It is a good opportunity to meet new people and swap experiences. Wear some sensible shoes and bring your own food if you like and a blanket to sit on.
Below are some interesting links for the walk:
On Google maps enter the postcode and you will see the car park at the end of River View Road. If anyone would like to go by bus then it is bus 5 from Bristol Centre.
If you take the bus you need to get off at the stop before Blackberry Hill Hospital.
Supporting Knowle West Health Park celebrating 10 years of healthy living
On Saturday 30 June 2012, we were at Knowle Park Health Centre to help them celebrate 10 years of healthy living activities. There was interest from the public in our leaflets and we met with many other organisations. We also had the privilege of meeting the Lord Mayor who wanted to learn about the group's activities.

Diabetes Week 2012 14th June 2012
For Diabetes Week, on 14 June we joined forces with Fit and Fab at Knowle West Health Park who had planned a Jubilee celebration. We provided refreshments and used cake recipes from Diabetes UK. Alongside each of the cakes, we displayed the recipe with its nutritional content. Many people took copies of the recipes.
As you can see from the photos, a good time was had by all. Our grateful thanks go to Cedric who has worked as a chef and prepared the cakes for us.
